Family Place Libraries offers multi-day national training institutes for librarians from around the country. During these trainings, attendees stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Stony Brook. We have been doing business with the HIE for more than three years. The management and event staff are a delight to work with. They ensure every detail from group registration to specific individual attendee needs is taken care of completely. No detail is too small or too big. Training attendees consistently comment on the comfort of the rooms, the wonderful hot breakfasts and, after an intense day of training, the opportunity to relax at the indoor pool and fitness facility. Just a quick thanks! For the past 6 years I have counted on HIE's efficient and amicable staff (especially Lenore! and Denean), and the clean and comfortable accommodations. Whether for an overnight guest, or 50+ guests over many nights, everything has always run smoothly--never a complaint from my visitors, and never a complaint from me! I appreciate the convenience and cost saving effectiveness of your free shuttle service to the University, Stony Brook train station, and Islip MacArthur Airport. Your amenities, location, and pricing, (and Sales Manager) are why I always recommend HIE to my colleagues. For local accommodations, my preference is HIE!

Stony Brook's Holiday Inn Express is a great place to stay at for multiple reasons. It was exactly what we needed during i-con & friends visits. It is centrally located, reasonably quiet, comfortable clean rooms & most importantly, internet friendly. A very convenient & affordable place close to not only the university, but also the mall & port jeff. The shuttle is convenient & saves you money on a cab if you're going to either mcarthur airport, the smithaven mall or stony brook university. The breakfast featured a variety of food and the pool is great & clean.-liz

Stony Brook's Holiday Inn Express is a great place to have our departmental seminars speakers stay at for multiple reasons. It was exactly what we needed during these 1 or 2 day stays. It is centrally located, reasonably quiet, comfortable clean rooms & most importantly, internet friendly, which gives professors the chance to stay in touch with their important research in their own institutions. A very convenient & affordable place close to not only the university, but also the mall & port jeff, so when the seminar is over & they want to go site seeing, they can go to port jeff & enjoy the scenic town & return back on their own. The shuttle is convenient & saves you money on a cab if you're going to either mcarthur airport, the smithaven mall or stony brook university. The breakfast featured a variety of food which consist of both cold (a variety of cereals, muffins & mini bagels) & hot (eggs & waffles) foods.
